Rishabh Pant has surged to seventh place in the ICC Test batting rankings after scoring centuries in both innings at Headingley. He is only the second wicketkeeper in Test history, after Zimbabwe’s Andy Flower in 2001, to achieve this feat. Pant has also become the first Indian wicketkeeper-batter to reach 800 rating points in Test history.

Joe Root remains the top-ranked Test batter globally, followed by his fellow countryman Harry Brook. India’s Shubman Gill has also made progress, climbing five places to 20th after his elegant century in the first innings.

India’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah retains his position as the world’s No. 1 Test bowler after another five-wicket haul at Headingley, further cementing his dominance with the red ball. England’s Ben Stokes, after contributing with both bat and ball, has risen three places to claim the No. 5 spot in the Test all-rounder rankings—his highest in recent months.
