Shaw's rise was meteoric. At 15, he was breaking records; by 18, he captained India to a Under-19 World Cup victory. His Test debut century fueled predictions of superstardom. However, early success brought distractions, and Shaw admits to losing his way.

He confessed that poor choices and waning discipline led him astray. Skipping practice and misprioritizing led to his exclusion from the Mumbai Ranji team and going unsold in the IPL 2025 auction.

Amidst the setbacks, Sachin Tendulkar remained a constant source of support. Having observed Shaw's development alongside his son Arjun, the legendary cricketer stood by him.

"Sachin Sir is aware of my journey. Arjun and I have been friends since childhood. We grew up playing together, and Sir was often present. I recently spoke with him, maybe two months ago, during a practice session at the MIG. He reminded me to get back on track," Shaw revealed to News24.

Tendulkar's enduring belief in Shaw has been a source of motivation. "When you lose your way, you need a mentor to reignite the spark. He still believes in me. He tells me to get back on the right track, just like before. He believes anything is possible in the coming years. His belief means a lot."

While the future remains uncertain, Shaw is confronting his challenges head-on. With Sachin Tendulkar's unwavering support, he has a genuine opportunity for redemption and to reclaim his place in the world of cricket.
